Surprisingly Stuart Bingham manages to steal the win in his match against Peter Ebdon. Playing well in the second session and sitting comfortably at a 8-6 lead I sure wouldn’t bet against Peter, but somehow Bingham won 4 on the trot to win it. The most dramatic part was when Peter was in among the balls and having a great chance at clearing up, forcing a decider. He got a horrendous kick on a simple black and left Bingham right in among the balls. Stuart held his nerve and secured the frame with Ebdon needing 3 snookers. Ebdon attempted to redeem the kick, but had to face the fact that it was over.
Another close match was Barry Hawkins against Stephen Maguire. Stephen struggling in the first session but found some form in the second. Unfortunately for him it was just too late as Barry secured the last frame with a tremendous break under pressure. Barry, of course delighted with the win, winning 10-9 against Stephen Maguire.
In other news Marco Fu is leading Martin Gould 6-3 and Graeme Dott is leading Mark King 6-3 after the first session, so all good stuff there. Graeme seems to be (nearly) unstoppable at the Crucible, who knows, maybe he will take the title? That would liven things up.
